We would like to inform you that , Saudi Trademark Office has adopted new automated web application for TM registration, and they made online filing and publication system in order to make trademarks registration easier and faster and no paper application will be accepted any more.
According to the new online filing and publication system, when application filed , agent will receive immediate online notification to pay filing fees , and when filing fees paid the application will be automatically subject to immediate examination and the applicant will receive notification with examination result within 48 hours.
If application has been accepted, applicant/agent should pay publication fees, and as soon as applicant/agent paid the publication fees, the application will be forwarded to online publication in the website of the Ministry of Commerce.
If no opposition filed against the trademark within 90 days from publication date , then it will be finally registered and registration certificate will be issued.
The new registration system will decrease registration period from 8 months to only 4 or 5 months. Accordingly we believe that this new system will help applicants to get their TM registered within a short period, and this require your support to update your clients on this issue, so we can be able to proceed faster to achieve our goal of faster and smooth registration of Trademarks.
